The terms that govern your use of the app.
These terms govern your use of the Vaak mobile app ("the app", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. These terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect and how we handle it.
Vaak is currently in private testing. Some features described here may change, and the service may be interrupted, updated, or discontinued without the notice a fully public product would give.
You must be 13 or older to use Vaak. If you are 18 or older, by using the app you confirm that you have the legal capacity to be bound by these terms.
If you are between 13 and 17, you may use Vaak only with the permission of a parent or lawful guardian, who agrees to these terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use of the app. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete their child's account at any time — see our Privacy Policy.
Creating an account requires a mobile number, verified by a one-time passcode (OTP). You are responsible for:
One account per mobile number. We do not use passwords — sign-in is by mobile number and OTP only.
Vaak is a word-practice app built around a letter-cipher learning system ("Anka Lipi"), along with a one-to-one chat feature for messaging other Vaak users. We may add, change, or remove features, including chat, at any time as the app develops.
When using Vaak, particularly its chat feature, you agree not to:
If another user violates these rules, you can block them or report them directly within the app — both act immediately, and reports are reviewed. We may suspend or remove an account that violates this section; see Section 8.
You retain ownership of the messages you send through Vaak. By sending a message, you give us the limited permission necessary to store and deliver it to its intended recipient — we do not use your messages for any other purpose, and we do not read them except as needed to investigate a report made under Section 5 or to operate the service. You are solely responsible for the content you send.
The Vaak app, its name, branding, the Anka Lipi cipher system, its word bank, and its underlying software are owned by Vaak or its licensors. Using the app does not give you any ownership right in these — only a personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the app in the ordinary way it's intended.
You can delete your account at any time directly in the app: open the Home screen and select Delete account. This is immediate, permanent, and does not require contacting support — see our Privacy Policy for exactly what's erased.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the app if you violate Section 5, if we're required to by law, or if we discontinue the service. Where reasonably possible, we'll try to give notice first.
Vaak is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Because the app is in private testing, we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, that the app will be error-free, or that any particular feature will remain unchanged. We do not review chat messages before they're sent, and we are not responsible for the content other users send you.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Vaak and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, or from the conduct of any other user. Nothing in this section limits any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Indian law.
If these terms change, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you within the app. Continuing to use Vaak after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
